Infant Care
Our Mission
Our mission is to enrich children’s lives through high-quality infant care, using positive, developmentally appropriate practices that support each child’s growth.
Our Philosophy
At Nu Building Blocks, we follow the Piagetian approach, recognizing that children grow and learn at their own pace through hands-on experiences. Our programs encourage active exploration and offer freedom of choice in a well-equipped learning environment. For preschoolers, we implement developmentally appropriate practices and teacher-guided activities. For infants, we use the Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE) method, which honors and nurtures every stage of a child’s development.
How We Put Our Philosophy Into Practice
- Daily story time
- Feeding on demand
- Opportunities for exploration and discovery
- Activities that build self-esteem
- Fostering respect for each child’s unique abilities
We are dedicated to helping every child reach their full potential in a caring, supportive setting.
Toddlers
Long-Lasting Benefits
As children grow from infancy into the toddler stage, Nu Building Blocks provides a nurturing environment filled with opportunities for growth and discovery. We foster development through activities that engage all five senses: hearing, tasting, smelling, seeing, and touching. These senses play a vital role in how toddlers learn.
How We Support Toddler Development
- Sensory activities that spark curiosity
- Daily reading and language experiences
- Hands-on manipulatives to build fine motor skills
- Creative projects such as coloring and painting
- A wide variety of play-based learning experiences
Our lesson plans are thoughtfully designed to help toddlers explore, learn, and develop a strong foundation for future success.
Pre-Kindergarten
Hands-On Learning for 2–3 Year Olds at Nu Building Blocks
At Nu Building Blocks, hands-on experiences are essential for the healthy development of 2 and 3 year old children. Our preschool curriculum for toddlers is designed to support growth in five key areas: language and literacy, literature, social studies, math, and music and movement. We provide a nurturing environment where young children build communication skills, explore their creativity, and gain confidence through interactive, play-based learning.
Language and Literacy Development
Our language and literacy activities help children develop strong listening skills, recognize the connection between spoken words and print, and build verbal comprehension. Children learn to interpret pictures, recall stories and experiences, and broaden their understanding of different cultures and real-world concepts.
Literature and Storytelling
Exposure to literature is vital for preschoolers. Through daily story time and access to a variety of books, children increase their attention span, develop an understanding of print concepts, and learn to care for books. Quiet moments with literature help foster independent thinking and a lifelong love of reading.
Social Studies and Community Exploration
Social studies activities introduce children to the world around them. Our curriculum helps children identify family members, understand community relationships, and explore neighborhoods and local resources. Field trips and community-based projects build self-concept, encourage acceptance of others, and connect children to people, places, and occupations in their environment.
Early Math Concepts
Preschool math activities at Nu Building Blocks connect everyday experiences to foundational math skills. Children learn number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, and how to sort and classify objects by size, shape, color, and texture. Activities also introduce basic concepts of time, such as reading a calendar and understanding the clock.
Music and Movement
Music and movement are integral parts of our toddler curriculum. Children are encouraged to express themselves creatively through singing, playing musical instruments, and movement activities. These experiences promote listening skills, creativity, emotional expression, and a sense of beauty and harmony.
Creative Expression with Puppets
Puppetry brings together lessons from language, literature, math, social studies, and music. Using puppets, children develop self-esteem, discover new ways to communicate feelings, and enhance their creative thinking and imagination. Puppet play supports conversation skills and helps children express their unique thoughts and attitudes.
At Nu Building Blocks, our hands-on, holistic approach ensures that every 2–3 year old receives a well-rounded preschool experience, building a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Social Interaction Skills
Every day begins with a group assembly that encourages socialization, teamwork, and positive communication. Our educators emphasize values, morals, and respectful behavior, helping children build essential social skills in a supportive environment.
Fine and Gross Motor Skills Development
- Fine motor skills are developed through activities like cutting and pasting, stringing beads, handwriting practice, board games, BINGO, and word games.
- Gross motor skills are strengthened as children participate in bike riding, rock wall climbing, jump rope, jungle gym play, and teacher-guided physical activities. These experiences are vital for healthy growth and physical development.

At Nu Building Blocks, our goal is to ensure every child is prepared for future academic success in any school environment. Our program fosters growth in reading, comprehension, problem-solving, and social skills, while also building self-esteem and a genuine love of learning.
